“ Oh where to start? Aagrah is without doubt my favourite ever Indian restaurant, no question about it. I love my curry & have eaten in many curry houses all over the country ranging from dingy studenty bring your own bottle places in Leicester to Michelin starred in London and Aagrah is all round winner. I lived in York for a few years and we frequented this place on an almost weekly basis (sometimes twice weekly) and not once were we disappointed. The menu is varied and often had new things added, they also do an eat as much as you like buffet once or twice a week and unlike many other places that do the same the quality of the food at the buffet was never inferior to the standard menu, just somewhat restricted. I have not lived in York for 2 years now and think of this place often (again possibly weekly) and will be sure to visit again in the future, for the Murgh Waziri - mmm, my tummy rumbles at the mere thought of it. My husband was a huge fan of one of their fish starter (although I can't remember the name of it) and he is a creature of habit who stuck to the same old thing - the fish to start & Chicken Masala. I however tried something different almost every time and was never let down. I would recommend this place to anyone without a second thought and think it is no wonder that there is now one in almost every large town in Yorkshire! ”
“ Like the rest of this local chain, the Aagrah delivers freshly cooked food with plenty of spice and flavour. I believe the menu has a Kashmiri background, but I'm no expert. Staff are friendly, and led by a wickedly efficient maitre d' (can you have one of those in a curry house? not sure). It's difficult to stay in the restaurant all evening, as they whizz you throught the courses. There's a varied menu. However, the options for vegetarians are a little disappointing, they're all basically vegetable curries. It would be nice to see something with chick peas, for example. ”
